Homemade Chocolate

We are ending the week on a high - literally! This week over on Instagram we have been giving you 3 reasons to LOVE real chocolate even more than you thought possible. Once we thought chocolate was just a treat, but now you can indulge knowing that its actually providing you with wholesome goodness too, because when we talk about real chocolate we are talking about the kind that is made with love, within nothing more than 100% cacao, making a very dark plain chocolate.
You can add anything to this chocolate recipe to create the flavour you desire, if you have a sweet tooth we recommend dried fruit, maple syrup or honey, just don't add anything water based — chocolate dislikes water. ENJOY! :)

Cacao (Immunomodulation)
Strengthening, balancing, supporting and regulating the immune system, optimising immune response (great for winter).
Cacao (Magnesium)
An essential mineral, absorbed in the gut and is important for energy, muscle health and bone health.
Cacao (Anandamide)
Is a fatty acid neurotransmitter. The name is taken from the Sanskrit word 'ananda', which means "joy, bliss, delight".
Cacao (Theobromine)
Similar to caffeine, it is a vasodilator, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, diuretic and can act as a stimulant. Studies suggest it aids the absorption of the polyphenols in Cacao.
Walnuts contain a number of neuroprotective compounds, including vitamin E, folate, melatonin, omega-3 fats, and antioxidants. Research suggests that eating walnuts may support brain health and heart health among other things.
Cranberries contain Vitamin C, plus vitamin E, vitamin K, fiber and manganese. They have been linked to helping urinary infections and are just delicious.
Maple Syrup
Maple syrup is one of the most natural forms of sweetener. Real Maple Syrup that is, which is tapped straight from the tree with no processing.
