With the blossoms out on the trees and strawberries looking rather delicious, we decided on a beautiful fruity smoothie today, with cherries, mango and coconut milk (although you can use whichever milk you prefer), and then we packed it full of brain nourishing tastiness in the form of Maca and Astragalus, Theanine and Ginkgo to keep us focused throughout the day — no flies on us today! Not only will all of these wonderful additions, help look after our immune systems as the seasons change, but it will help us ditch a possible 3pm coffee scramble, give us some sustained energy, awake-ness and focus, all while we tantalise our taste buds with the fruit explosion.
Perfect way to start welcoming Spring with blossoms and 'twitterpation'.
Omega 3's and 6's (chia)
Omega 6's are inflammatory, but great for skin, hair, bones, metabolism etc. Omega 3's are anti-inflammatory and are an integral part of cell membranes throughout the body (helping with . Omega 6's (in simple terms) are bullies to the Omega 3's, when consumed they both compete for the same enzyme to convert to things the body can use, the Omega 6's usually win this race, hence the requirement for more Omega 3's - power in numbers. They are both essential as the body can't make them. In Chia, there are almost 3 times as many Omega 3's to 6's, which means you get the best of both worlds).
