These ANZAC biscuits are made with a traditional recipe in mind — with a few healthy substitutions. The Remembrance Day Ode comes from 'For the Fallen', a poem by the English poet and writer Laurence Binyon that was published in London in 'The Winnowing Fan: Poems of the Great War in 1914'. This below verse became the Ode for the Returned and Services League, and has been used in association with commemoration services in Australia since 1921. Wishing everyone a wonderful day of remembrance and thanks!
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them.
